Upload images of official first responder documentation to verify your Law Enforcement, EMT, or Firefighter status. The ID.me team reviews document uploads within 24-72 hours at a secure U.S.-based facility
There are multiple ways of getting a copy of your paper documentation on to your computer in a digital format; including (but not limited to) using a scanner or taking a picture with a smartphone or tablet and e-mailing it to yourself, etc.
The documentation used to verify first responder status depends upon the type of First Responder you are:
Law Enforcement Officers
- Training Certification
- ID Card
- Retired ID Card
- Certificate of Retirement
- Pension Statement
Firefighters
- ID Card
- Training completion certificate that is less than a year old
- A copy of a valid, professionally-issued certification illustrating firefighter status
EMT/EMS
- Valid Paramedic / EMT or EMA ID card
- Training completion certificate that is less than a year old
- Valid government-issued certification illustrating EMT, EMA or Paramedic status
Note: We do not accept transcripts, department logos, business cards, emblems, or pictures of individuals dressed in uniform as a form of verification. All badges must be accompanied by proper identification. We are also unable to verify ID cards labeled as "Employee", "Civilian", or cards that do not have your position as a Law Enforcement Officer, Firefighter, or EMT/Paramedic.
*Documents are processed in the order that they are received 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
